November 24th The Village Hall: Concert by “The Lighters” 7.30pm

                                                          (Doors open 7.00pm)

This talented local group will be performing their own compositions as well as cover versions of 20th and 21st-century hit songs. Do look them up on the internet for more detail about them. Soft drinks and snack items will be available to buy, but if you would like to consume alcohol, please bring your own. There will also be a tombola and if anyone has items to donate for this, please contact Julia Drury by email:friendsallsaintsg@gmail.com – or by phone 01263 577794. Tickets will be available from the above telephone numbers from November 12th.

I hope to see many of you there with your friends and family for a great evening.

Finally this year, we hope to run a social pre-Christmas afternoon during the first week in December for local people. It will include Christmas food and music and we will have optional games. Although open to all, we would like to send specific invitations to those who live on their own and/or perhaps those who find it difficult to get out, as we will endeavour to provide transport. If you know of anyone in these circumstances who you think would welcome an invitation, please let me know their name and address and an invitation will be sent. Parents and children will also be very welcome both before and after school closes for the day. More details of this event will be included in the November newsletter.

Looking ahead to next year’s programme, we are still in the early stages of planning but are already discussing the possibility of running again a Classic Car event with Vintage Fair, but providing more activities on the field this time around. We have also discussed a Gardeners’ afternoon, with an expert giving a talk, followed by a Question time to an expert panel, a Sheringham Shantymen concert, a photographic exhibition in the church accompanied by a workshop for those wishing to improve their own photos, and another Village Picnic. Please let us know what you think of these ideas and send us any ideas of events you would personally enjoy… but remember, we do need to make some money for the church project from every event we stage.

Best wishes to you all and hoping to hear some of your ideas,

Julia Drury
