I was hoping, by the beginning of the month, to have heard the decision on our bid from the Heritage Lottery Fund. However, we continue to wait hopefully! I will let you all know when we receive news.
This month, we hope to see you at our Pancake Celebration Day on this Tuesday, (5th) when we will open at the Village Hall in Gresham at 11.00am and be serving pancakes until 4.00pm. There will be a children’s corner with a variety of activities available. We still need raffle prizes and cakes for our cake stall, if possible. The Folk and Friends Concert on 9thMarch, this Saturday, is in the church and begins at 7.30pm. Refreshments will be served. There will be no charge but we will have a Tombola and donations will be welcome. The School concert with a school choir and musicians from Beeston Hall school, is on Wednesday March 27th, at 7.00pm. Again, there will be no charge. I hope to see many of you at these events.
Our Gardening event on April 27this taking shape. Inside and outside the Village Hall there will be stalls from local independent growers and those selling other relevant gardening materials. Furthermore there will be some short talks, and demonstrations on gardening topics throughout the day. At the same time, the Flower Festival will open in the church on both Saturday and Sunday.
Later events will include a repeat of our Village Picnic, on the Park on May 19thand a Classic Car Show and Craft Fair on July 20th.
