October 2019 Friends’ Newsletter
Last Saturday evening, our church was filled with superbly performed Baroque music. Talented players of flute, oboe, bassoon and harpsichord combined with the soprano voice of Meg Starling, to perform work from a range of composers including Bach, Handel, Hayden, Mozart, Purcell and Telemann. There were also solo instrumental pieces- the harpsichord sounded particularly magnificent. It was really uplifting, from the outset and, although the audience was small, everyone remarked on the quality of what they had heard and left smiling.
After expenses, we raised £148.00 for our funds.
This month, we have a Sheringham Shantymen concert on Saturday 26th. Tickets, to include refreshments, £10 each: please ring Julia 01263 577794, or Helen 01263 577849 to book. We will have a raffle at this event and would welcome donations for prizes.
The final concert of the season will be on November 9th, when “Song of Courage and Good Cheer” will ring out in the church. Again, we will start at 7.30pm and refreshments will be served.
Finally this year, we will hold a Village Christmas social on December 6th in the afternoon. Please put the date in your diaries and there will be further details in next month’s newsletter.
I hope we can enjoy some Autumn sunshine this month!
