Please note that there was no May Newsletter 2020.
It seems an age since I wrote last time at the beginning of April when we had only recently gone into lockdown. Now as small steps are being taken to loosen the rules, we are all too well aware that the virus is still very much around and social distancing must be maintained.
However, the Diocese has announced that building work on churches may recommence, as long as government guidelines regarding such work are enacted to the letter. Our builders were in the midst of other work when they had to suspend operations in March, so it is unlikely that they will start the Gresham project for at least a couple of months. Nevertheless, it is good to see things moving again.
I have been in touch with our Lottery Advisor and of course, all our deadlines and commitments are currently on hold until circumstances allow us to steam ahead with our plans and our continued fundraising.
I hope you have all found pleasant things to occupy you at home during the past weeks and months, and that you continue in good health, as thankfully, as far as I am aware, the rest of the Committee and I do.
Continue to take care and very best wishes,
Julia Drury, Chair of The Friends of All Saints Gresham
