Friends of All Saints Church Gresham January newsletter
Happy New Year to you from the Friends Committee. It is a shame that we cannot hold our usual Brunch in January, Pancake Celebration in February or our winter concerts this year, but we are hopeful that by late Spring or early Summer, some Friends events may be possible again. By then we will be anxious to celebrate our refurbished church with everyone. Our builders have resumed work after Christmas and scaffolding is now being erected in the nave and tower for work there to be undertaken. The Steering Committee have chosen the distemper for the nave to be redecorated, once the plaster has been repaired- we have chosen “Fresco”, a light but warm colour.
For now, we must accept the limitations of lockdown and try to keep positive. My daily dog walk allows for occasional pleasant, socially distanced, meetings with other dog lovers, something I look forward to.
Helen and I are not meeting at all now, but our 100 club draw for January has taken place, the winning numbers being 99, 21 and 23. Winners will soon be in receipt of their cheques, if they have not already arrived
I hope the January weather will allow you to get out for exercise.
