Newsletter August 2021

Dear All

We have a new Lottery Advisor who has confirmed that our proposals for moving monies between budget headings has been approved. The work on the tower has been completed and the extra work on the church- repair of rotten floor joists and decoration of the chancel and porch- is due to begin this week. However, a September completion is unlikely and our Celebration plans have been put back until October. I expect to have more news on this next month.

A July meeting with the firm we hope will deliver our banners, was postponed owing to a Covid alert; we expect to have this meeting later in August.

Plans have been discussed at a PCC Steering Committee meeting (15th July 2021) to have the church professionally sanitised prior to reopening. This meeting covered a number of other relevant items, including the placement of the National Lottery Plaque recording their contribution to the church’s restoration. Online Evaluation training events have been booked for mid-September, as anticipated face to face courses are still not available.

We feel that we are making some progress on the rest of our programme at last.

100 Club winners this month are numbers 28, 22, and 88. Congratulations to our winners- cheques are on the way.

Let’s hope for a drier. sunnier August so that we can have a summer!

Best wishesJulia Drury, Chair, The Friends of All Saints Gresham
